The Registered Manager is a skilled and reflective practitioner with several years’ experience in leading successful teams. As a determined individual, with a motivation to social justice and enabling that children’s voices are heard.

The children we support often have complex needs because of traumatic childhood experiences. This can include a vulnerability to CSE, ASC, EBD and challenging behaviours. The children and young people in our care may have experiences of multiple breakdowns placement breakdowns or it may be their first experience of the care system.

We are urgently seeking team members who are available on a part time or bank basis as support workers in a residential setting. The hours can be flexible to meet individual needs. You will be working with an established and skilled team of practitioners. The team are committed and motivated to deliver psychologically informed care and support for up to three young females aged 11 to 18 in a therapeutic environment.

Our properties are managed to the highest standards and are homely and well equipped.

The team receives regular supervision, ongoing coaching and support and access to group or one to one Clinical Supervision sessions. There is the autonomy and opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills for career progression with access to QCF levels 3 & 5 (Children & Young people.)

Housing Support Worker

JOB TYPE – Full Part time – Shift patterns to be agreed upon application

Person Specifications 

  1. Knowledge of the national and local changes affecting the leaving care agenda. 
  2. Ability to drive forward continuous improvement within the context of the contractual and insurance performance monitoring framework.
  3. Experience of working within supported housing (or a closely related service). 
  4. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service user empowerment and reintegration.  
  5. A practical, common sense and ‘can-do’ approach. 
  6. Flexibility, creativity, initiative and self-motivation. 
  7. Knowledge/experience of management of systems. 
  8. Proven negotiation and communication skills. 
  9. Experience of handling budgets. 
  10. Excellent level of IT literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and case management databases. 
  11. Holder of: 
      • Level three health and social care qualification 
      • Where not a holder of an accredited qualification, is able to obtain such within an agreed timeframe after commencing employment.

Desirable Skills

Senior Support Worker

Salary: £20,800 – £22,880 a year

The young people we support may have experienced trauma or are at risk of CSE. These young people often have complex needs including Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, ASD, Challenging Behaviour and who have potentially already been within the care system between residential and fostering placements.

With the support of an experienced, passionate and knowledgeable Registered Manager, you will have the autonomy to develop your knowledge and skills set along with the ability to progress your career with access to QCF level 3 & 5 in children & young people.

The home is a psychologically informed therapeutic home that uses attachment theories and PLACE as its models to work within. We currently work with 2 / 3 girls in a lovely homely setting.
