Supported Accommodation

We have a passionate commitment to enable and empower young people with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs to achieve their potential.

Through the provision of high-quality stable homes, our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and nurturing living environment for looked after young people/care leavers aged 16-17.

With young people at the centre of our service, we have adopted a trauma informed approach and utilise a range of evidence-based tools, to empower young people to strengthen their practical, emotional, and social skills in preparation for a successful transition to independence.

With over 13 years’ experience of providing supported accommodation in Gloucestershire, we have been able to support many young people to successfully make the transition to their own accommodation, or semi-independent accommodation/supported living.

All supported accommodation for looked after children and care leavers aged 16-17 is regulated by Ofsted.  Carbrey Housing is registered with Ofsted and awaiting inspection.

We have a range of accommodation to meet the needs of young people which includes:

A ground floor, one bedroom flat for a young person with low level support needs and who is ready for more independence.  The accommodation has a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room with a shared entrance hall and outside rear garden. This property would require little adaptation to provide a suitable environment for young people with mobility needs.

A 5-bedroom home accommodating up to 4 young people of mixed gender.  Two bedrooms have en-suite facilities, with additional shower rooms on the ground and first floor.  The accommodation has a separate kitchen, communal dining room and a separate communal living room with access to an outside garden. The home has a ground floor bedroom and showering facilities, making this accessible to young people with mobility needs requiring little adaptation.

A second 5-bedroom home accommodating up to 4 young people of mixed gender.  The accommodation has two bathrooms, a communal kitchen/living area and access to its own garden.

A 3-bedroom home accommodating up to 2 young people of mixed gender with a shared bathroom, communal living/dining room and kitchen with access to its own garden.

All our shared homes have a designated bedroom for overnight sleep-in support with staff on site each night.

All homes are well equipped, and we encourage our young people to personalise their bedrooms and give their input into the décor of all communal spaces, so they feel like they live in a home that is theirs.
